SECULAR FUNERAL

Home

Welcome to SecularFuneral.co.uk. the site that will help those who are considering a Secular funeral for themselves or a loved one or friend and to introduce more people to the relatively new concept of a Civil Funeral ceremony. Civil Funeral ceremonies are commonplace in Australia and NZ, but the British public are only just beginning to realise that there is an alternative to a religious or atheist Funeral Ceremony. A Civil Funeral Ceremony puts the emphasis on the life of the deceased, not the beliefs of the person officiating.

Each ceremony is written to try and capture the essence of the person who has died using words, music and personal reminisences. Putting into words, in a dignified way, what needs to be said  at a very difficult time for those left behind. I recently gave a talk on the subject at LOROS in Leicester and am happy to come to talk to your organisation if you think it m ight help. I trained as a Funeral Celebrant in March 2006  and since then have officiated at Funerals in crematoria, municipal cemeteries and green burial sites as well as private homes. I have also been the celebrant at a Hindu Civil Funeral. Sizes of congregations have ranged from 3 to 300. All the ceremonies have been well received. I have worked in the Funeral Industry since 2004, so have wide experience of what a Funeral entails.
